ReservationAn extraordinary body defies the rules of dance and the laws of physics. Dancer and choreographer Sofiane Chalal doesn’t mince his words: "You meet me twice, as if my body takes up all the space, including my own". This almost schizophrenic duality between his life on stage and in the city is the subject of Ma part d’ombre, his first solo show. It is almost a rite of initiation, where matters both personal and universal are dealt with : the body as an ally and an enemy, and the paradox — sometimes exciting, sometimes painful — of what we perceive of ourselves versus what others see.
