And what if the slogan in question contributed to the eroticisation and fetishisation of black women’s bodies? Faced with the contradictory directions and stereotypes assigned to black bodies, Rebecca Chaillon and her intelligent and illuminating writing accompany a band of singers, dancers, actresses and circus artists working to reclaim their bodies.
