Throughout your course with us, benefit from an area dedicated to the learning of French and the discovery of French and francophone culture. Resources available for consultation in our Resource Centre have been specially chosen for students and teachers of French as a foreign language.

Thousands of documents in the French language are available for you: books, comics, newspapers, magazines, audio books, DVDs, francophone music, etc. You can also consult a selection of e-books on our e-readers and access applications on our tablets. The emphasis is on all aspects of the teaching and learning of French as a foreign language in a European context.

Student library

Our teaching and documentary team has selected varied resources for each learning level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages*. Students, discover with ease the documents that correspond to your level.


Culturethèque (“CultureLibrary”) is the digital library for teachers and students with the Alliance française de Bruxelles-Europe. It can be accessed via a computer or a mobile telephone anywhere in the Belgian territory. Using this portal, you can consult e-books, audio books in simple French, press titles and comic books, etc. Tablets are at your disposal in the Resource Centre to consult this portal.

Conditions for access

Access to the espace Jean-Pierre de Launoit, Resource Centre and enrolment with Culturethèque are free and exclusively reserved for students, teachers and Teacher Training pupils of the Alliance française de Bruxelles-Europe.

Monday: 12pm-8pm
Tuesday: 12pm-8pm
Wednesday: 8.30am-6.30pm
Thursday: 8.30am-6.30pm
Friday: 8.30am-1.30pm

Conditions for loan of documents

To borrow documents**, you simply need to register with our library and provide a deposit of €30 (in cash), valid for the entire duration of your course. This deposit will be returned to you when you leave the Alliance française de Bruxelles-Europe.

Duration of loan

Multimedia documents: 1 week maximum
Books and audio books: 3 weeks maximum

*The Common European Framework of Reference for languages provides common guidelines for the design of language courses and diploma and certificate programmes. The framework defines three levels: basic (A1-A2), independent (B1-B2) and proficient (C1-C2).
