poetry Festival

The TRANSPOESIE poetry festival is organised for the seveth consecutive year by EUNIC Brussels, the European Union National Institutes for Culture based in the Belgian capital. This year, a few countries have joined together to offer the population of Brussels a selection of poems in their original languages, with translations in French, English and Dutch.

26 September 2017 | 7pm | Muntpunt (Brussels)

First indoor event of the festival at Muntpunt, the documentation centre of the Flemish Community in Belgium!
Meet the slamers Zuzanna FUKSOVÁ (Czech Republic), Malin and Melinda LONNBERG (Finland) - duo EstradpoesiFI -, the Basque writer Harkaitz CANO, the Turkish poet Fatih OKUMUŞ and the famous Slovenian creator Anja GOLOB.
The poets will read their texts in orignal version. Translations in Dutch, French and Englishs will be showed on screen.

17 October 2017 | 8pm | BOZAR (Brussels)

For the 4th time, Transpoesie is at BOZAR. On stage: the Galician Spanish poet Chus PATO, the Romanian writer Andra ROTARU, the Estonian performer Maarja KANGRO, the famous French-Moroccan author Abdellatif LAABI and one of the most renowned Flemish writers, Peter VERHELST. Gudrun DE GEYTER, journalist at KLARA, is introducing the poets.

Last poetry event of the festival with Mieze MEDUSA [AT], Oddfríður Marni RASMUSSEN [FO], Anna TERÉK [HU], Gerður Kristný [IS], Florent TONIELLO [LU], Krzysztof SIWCZYK [PL] and Maria DO ROSÁRIO PEDREIRA [PT]).
