Europe is calling for fresh narratives, constructive encounters and playful courage. Sweating for Europe encourages a fresh approach to the hottest topics of the moment, gathering Members of the European Parliament and European citizens in an extraordinary environment.

Sweating for Europe is a unique series of discussions taking place on the doorstep of the European Parliament from 24 to 26 April 2017. At the heart of the event is an old fire engine, modified into a mobile wood-fired sauna.

On April, 24th and 25th, MEPs are invited to enter into it in order to warm up for the dialogue with other parliamentarians and citizens hosted by Parlamentarium, the European Parliament Visitors’ Centre.

On April, 26th, the mobile sauna will park in front of BOZAR, inviting residents to pursue the European dialogue.

On the three days, as the sun sets, the evening continues with live music from different parts of Europe and an open sauna for all.

Special forums for key decision makers to meet each other and the broader public are much needed. In Finland, the sauna is a place for peace, relaxation and truthfulness. When the sauna is entered, all things futile are left behind. These are attributes that the political discourse could benefit from.
