As a result of the international amateur photo contest “Fashion and Dress Codes”, the Fondation Alliance Française invites us to discover the best pictures which were selected from entries sent by 115 photographers from all around the world.
The Alliance Française Bruxelles-Europe gallery is pleased to exhibit this photo journey, characterized by its diversity given the multiple
possible interpretations of the theme. The exhibition makes us discover photographs inspired by the archetypes of fashion photography or
works picturing the fashion codes proper to different cultures; from the traditional clothes worn during the Volambetoaka in Madagascar to
the costume of the Mexican mariachi.
About the Fondation Alliance Française contest
Each year since 2010, the Fondation Alliance Française organises an international photography competition within the worldwide network of
the Alliances Françaises, in partnership with the AFP, Courrier international and the magazine Photo. The contest aims to
highlight the diversity of the Alliance Française’s network and to give a chance to amateur photographers to see their work exhibited all
around the world.
